Counseling

Well Baby Center provides high quality, affordable counseling services for adults, couples, children, and families. Our counselors strive to help families gain the confidence and skills to bring health, balance, and well-being into their lives.

Our counselors can help with:

  • Life transitions
  • Loneliness and isolation
  • Perinatal mood disorders
  • Separation, divorce, and co-parenting
  • Marital conflict and sexual intimacy issues
  • Concerns about your child’s emotional development
  • Sibling rivalry, breastfeeding challenges, weaning, sleep issues, and more

Cost: $50 – $150/session. Sliding scale fees and partial scholarships available to those who qualify.

Parenting Coaching

“How can I become a more effective and compassionate parent?”

Well Baby Center’s one-on-one parenting coaching sessions utilize a psychoeducational approach designed to help you and your partner navigate the challenging transitions in your child’s life. Each session is tailored to meet the needs of your family and child, allowing you to address areas where you need more support and guidance. Our parenting coaches will provide information to help your family reach developmentally appropriate goals and formulate strategies to achieve your goals.

Parenting coaching can help with:

  • Temper tantrums
  • Meal time battles
  • Separation anxiety
  • Sleep challenges
  • School transitions
  • Transitioning from one child to two or three
  • Self-care in parenting
  • Co-parenting

Cost: $80/hour ($240 for package of 4) for our senior parent educator, $40/hour for Associates. Sliding scale fees and partial scholarships available to those who qualify.

Mindful Parenting Groups provide a unique, developmentally-based approach to promoting sensitivity, flexibility, and mindful communication between parent and child in order to enhance the attachment relationship.

The structure of the group is as follows:

  • Brief Meditation
  • Child-Centered Observation
  • Parent-Centered Reflection
  • Snack Time (toddlers): In-Person Only
  • Developmental Questions

Topics discussed may include:

  • Bonding with your little one
  • Young children’s sleep challenges
  • Parents’ emotional experiences
  • Developmental milestones
  • Nursing/feeding
  • Self-care strategies
  • Tantrums and boundary testing
  • Setting limits with love and empathy
  • This group is open to parents with infants and toddlers (newborn to 3 years).

Cost:  $40/group per family. Sliding scale fees and partial scholarships available to those who qualify.

Group Forming Now! Infant Mindful Parenting Groups teach parents ways to bond with their little ones, navigate infant sleep challenges, manage their emotional experience as new parents, and so much more.

Becoming Social is a school-readiness parent-child group that helps children develop age-appropriate social skills and learn to accept simple instructions, all within a fun playground group experience. We use sensory enrichment activities, music, instruments, and play to encourage your child’s innate capacities. Parents attend a parenting group in the play yard along with their children.

This group is for parents and their toddlers or school-aged children.

Cost:  $40/group per family. Sliding scale fees and partial scholarships available to those who qualify.

Self Care for New and Expecting Parents

Self Care for New and Expecting Parents is a support group focusing on ways to manage in this unprecedented time including meditation, relaxation, and breathing techniques while also offering time to learn practical parenting tools based on what ever parents bring up.

Cost: $40/group per family. Sliding scale fees and partial scholarships available to those who qualify.

Online Mindful Parenting Support Group
In this parents-only online support group you will learn ways to mindfully manage meltdowns, provide practical discipline, and maintain cooperation and happiness in the home.   Includes mindfulness exercises and mindful ways to manage pandemic stress.

Cost:  $40/group per family. Sliding scale fees and partial scholarships available to those who qualify.

classes

Online Loving Discipline teaches parents how to set limits effectively by using empathy, love, and understanding to encourage cooperation and to strengthen the parent-child bond.

The Loving Discipline 10-week class series, offered in the evening, is court-approved and includes a certificate of completion.

Cost: $200 for 10 weeks; $20 per class. This class series can be taken privately with an Associate – complete at your own pace. $40/session. Sliding scale fees and partial scholarships available to those who qualify.

Online Effective Parenting (STEP) in Spanish

This eight-week, court-approved program provides practical skills that have been demonstrated to improve communication and reduce conflict among family members. Certificate of completion provided.

Cost: $160 for 8 weeks; $20 per class. This class series can be taken privately with an Associate – complete at your own pace. $40/session.  Sliding scale fees and partial scholarships available to those who qualify.
